Appointment Booking

There are many medical problems for which you do not need to see a doctor, and there are other primary care services. Please see our attached signposting poster on the right for resources you can access before considering consultation with a doctor.

If you need to make an appointment with us to see a healthcare professional, please telephone our reception on 0131 650 2777. Although we cannot respond to clinical queries by email due to patient confidentiality reasons, if you have a general query you can send this via eConsult which you will find on the website.

Please ask reception staff for details of how to book an appointment online to speed up this process in future.

Please log in HERE to access online services.

If you need help with your appointment

Please tell us:

  • if there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond.
  • if you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone or face-to-face.
  • if you need an interpreter.
  • if you have any other access or communication needs.

Home Visits

If at all possible we prefer to see patients at the surgery where full investigative treatment facilities are available, rather than at home. However, should a home visit be necessary we will of course be pleased to do this.

It is very helpful to us if requests for such visits can be phoned in before 10 a.m. (tel: 0131-650-2777) Please do not feel offended if the receptionist asks for some simple details of your illness – it does help the doctor to arrange to see you rapidly if your symptoms sound serious. The Duty Doctor may also speak to you.
